This time of year is nice, I can almost taste sweet, tangy, summer freedom BUT it is terrible in terms of academic jargon and disgusting exams. As a viewer, I find the explicit 'studity' offensive at this moment in time. Alas, I have many tasty treats to post in the near future, which I will let go of one by one, like an old man releasing his treasured pigeon fleet into the sky. Coo coo.
For now, this is what I've been listening to. Wish I'd get abducted so I don't do exams. Contact me if you can make this possible.

Another sterling effort from Dom Tiberio, also known as Felt Drawings. His new album 'BODY' is out 26th April and it's not to be missed. With an apocalyptic menace to his sound, this album really kills it.

I recieved an email from Stray Kites and was prompted to listen to their album ‘One Day, Earth Time’. I did this whilst doing a terrible piece of work and the juxtaposing was something else; their next album should be titled ‘making doing essays nice since 2010’. All credit will go to them if I ace it aswell. Junior and Max are located in Ashburn, Virginia at the moment, but with the stuff they’ve produced so far, I have a feeling they’ll be off gallivanting soon.

Songs are about storytelling and being able to distinguish the words in songs always helps, believe it or not. There’s a refreshing clarity to the duo's songs and they articulate themselves well; their self recorded stuff makes it feel all the more personable and authentic. Most of all, it’s breezy, optimistic and fun and resonates a natural, earthiness. I can’t help but make comparisons with the Dodos, which is absolutely a great thing.

They’re working on their upcoming LP ‘Mieux’ right now and ‘Misanthope’ and 'All is well' are a taste of what’s to come and it sure is tasty.

First off, where are you in the world right now and what're you working on?

We are in a tree house in northern Virginia, and we are recording songs for our second LP, Mieux.

Could you give a brief Stray Kites history?

About 18 months ago, Junior and I [Max] missed our bus and we met each other. We started talking about music and how we wanted to make some and decided to jam the next Wednesday. Pretty much every Wednesday since, we have jammed.

Who did you grow up listening to?

We both listened to a lot of Surf Music for the both of us.

Tell us a bit about your most recent track, 'All is well'

It's about a girl named Noelle who Junior liked, didn't, liked again and there is references to her throughout Mieux.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever written a song about?

There's a song that we are actually recording right now called Mirror Talk, and it's about schizophrenia and suicide.

Are there any specific themes or sources of inspiration you find yourself revisiting often when making music?

Psychology and Philosophy

What would you say was the perfect environment or situation to listen to your music in?

In a Tree House with friends.
